SCRIPT GUIDELINES

Before you submit your script, please make sure you review the following guidelines. Your entry will be disqualified if you use a different font or format, or if your page count is longer than the specified lengths.

1. No more than 10 pages.

2. All scripts must be submitted in English.

3. Scripts should be written in standard screenplay format set in 12-point Courier font.

4. Mailed-in submissions must be printed on plain white three-hole-punched paper and bound with two proper-sized brads. Include cardstock covers (front and back) to protect your script during handling by our staff.  You may print the title of your script on the front cover or you may leave it blank, but do not print your name or contact information on the cover of your script.

Contestants who reside outside theU.S. may use A4 size paper or other standard paper and binding used by industry professionals in your region. You can order industry standard brads and cardstock online at The Writers Store.

5. Pages must be numbered. Before you submit your script, please go through it to make sure there are no missing or duplicated pages.

6. Do NOT include your name or contact information within the body of your script or on the cover page. Judging will be anonymous, your screenplay will be identified solely by its title and script number for judging purposes.

7. Please do not enclose synopses, casting suggestions, letters, resumes or photos with your submission. They will not be forwarded to the Judges.

8. We recommend that you register your script before submitting it to any company or individual you do not personally know. You can register your script by mail with the U.S. Copyright Office, or you can register online with Protect Rite or the WGA. As disinterested third parties, these services establish the completion date of your registered material and offer the security of long-term storage in the event your original is lost or destroyed.
