2012 Short Film Screenwriting Contest

 kNIFVES – the Northwest’s premiere Independent Film & Video Entertainment Society is looking for a few good scripts. Do you have original material for a short screenplay?    This could be your big opportunity!

 We are looking for a 10-page screenplay with an Inland Northwest theme that can be shot locally with a $5,000-$10,000 budget.  Any genre (romance, comedy, horror, etc.) is acceptable.

     Contest Begins: January 1, 2012

     Contest Ends: April 30, 2012

     $20 Non-Members

Additional Entries
Additional entries receive a $5 discount for each additional script submitted in the same envelope or electronic transmission.

Judges Comments
For a fee of $35, a Judge will send you an evaluation of your script’s strengths and weaknesses, in addition to detailed information on how your script scored and why.  These comments will be emailed following announcement of the winners in June, 2012.  Feedback can be requested for up to two judges.  The fee is per judge.

Production
kNIFVES produces several projects each year, often using winners of this screenplay contest.  However, winning does not guarantee production, which is always subject to financing and the work and talent of volunteer cast and crew.

Submissions and payments to our contest can be made by mail or electronically via email.

 If you would like delivery confirmation of your entry, please enclose a self-addressed, stamped postcard.

To submit online
You may submit your entry form and screenplay entry electronically to email hidden; JavaScript is required.  Entry must be submitted as an Adobe Acrobat PDF file (preferred), Final Draft or Movie Magic file, or Microsoft Word file.  Make sure your file is not password protected or secured.

Your payment can be made through PayPal on our website at www.knifves.org.

Entry Deadlines:
Entries must be postmarked or transmitted electronically on or before midnight Pacific Time on April 30, 2012 in order to qualify. Any entries postmarked or transmitted after the Entry Deadline will be disqualified.
